About Me

Hello and Thanks for checking out my website!

I'm Kristin Toland and I have a Huge Passion for Fastpitch Softball!

I've been an athlete my whole life, mainly taking interests in softball and soccer, but also dabbling with gymnastics when I was much younger.  I started playing softball and soccer in the local recreational leagues and quickly progressed into the club and travel levels of both sports.  I was almost always the youngest player on my teams and often played up in age levels due to my athletic abilities.

I started my club softball career with the 12U Parkville Thunder, based out of Parkville, Maryland.  We played mainly C level ball, but again, I was around 9 or 10 years old at the time.  I then switched to the Maryland Black Ice softball program, based out of Cockeysville, Maryland where I remained for several years.  I played 12U and 14U for the Maryland Black Ice where we competed in B level and progressed to A level ball. While on the 14U Maryland Black Ice A level team, I was selected to represent my team and play in the USSSA DEL-MAR-VA Tri-State games.

In the fall of 2017, I tried out for and was offered a spot on the Lady Orioles 16U Elite Team (A Level), based out of Glen Burnie, Maryland.  It was around this time that I realized softball was my absolute passion and that I wanted to play softball over soccer in college.  With that, I stopped playing club soccer and have been focusing all of my efforts towards obtaining my goal of playing high level college softball!  In the Winter of 2018, the Lady Orioles formed a 16U Gold level team and I was offered a spot and that team. The Lady Orioles 16U Gold team plays both 16U and 18U and always looks to compete in the most challenging tournaments and showcases they can find.  In 2018, we qualified for and played in the 16U USA Gold Nationals in Plano, Texas which was an amazing experience.  Most of the tournaments and showcases we play in are in states other than Maryland, such as Virginia, Delaware, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.  In the Fall of 2018, I was featured in USA Softball's online magazine, "Balls and Strikes" in their "Faces on the Field" section.

In June of 2019 after the Lady Orioles made changes within their organization and with my team's roster, I decided it was time to look for a new home.  I always strive to get the best training I can and play the highest levels of softball that I can.  With that, I tried out for the Gold Coast Hurricanes and was offered a spot.  In the Fall of 2019, after tryouts, I was moved to the 18U Gold Team of the Gold Coast Hurricanes.

As part of my goal to play high level college softball, I incorporate weight training and proper nutrition into my daily activities along with softball specific training (Batting drills, fielding drills, footwork drills, etc) which I do just about every day.  I have strength and conditioning training with Coach Andrew Murcia of Next Level Sports Performance twice a week and I get a 3rd workout in each week with my Dad who used to be a professional natural bodybuilder as well as a personal trainer and nutritional consultant. I also used to do speed and agility training once a week with Coach Pete Eibner of Fast Forward Training Systems.

As noted on my Home Page, I attend Eastern Tech High School in Baltimore, Maryland where I am currently a Junior.  I currently hold a 3.63 GPA and a 4.38 QPA and was inducted into the National Honors Society in my Sophomore year.  I made the Varsity Soccer Team as a starter both my freshman and sophomore years and was selected to the All Division Team in my sophomore year.

I also made the Varsity Softball Team both my freshman and sophomore years.  Eastern Tech

Varsity Softball has been a powerhouse in the State of Maryland (Class 2A) for the past several years and we took 2nd in the Class 2A Maryland State Championships my freshman year.  While very active with my sports and training, I also work very hard on my school work.  I received the "Minds in Motion" award during each of my soccer and softball seasons and was honored with the "All Academic Team" award during my freshman softball season.

At the end of my Sophomore High School Softball Season, I was awarded 1st Team All County, 2nd Team All Metro and named to the Baltimore County All Division Team.

On December 5, 2019, I Verbally Committed to continue my softball and academic journey at Towson University and am super excited for this opportunity!
